“Sanctuary” was one of the first fine art images I created digitally. It began as a vague notion in my mind, then I put pencil to paper, drawing from imagination. I scanned several drawings, then composited them before beginning to “paint” in Photoshop. It was the early days in 1995-96 when new software tools were being created and enhanced, giving artists the opportunity to push these tools to uses for which they were not intended.

“Sanctuary” was awarded Best Still Image at the 1996 Macxibition in New York, sponsored by The MacStreet Journal.
