Here is a print of my triptych “Nautilus” displayed in the New York home of one of my collectors. I won’t say who, that wouldn’t be right. I think they did a great job with the matting and framing, better than I did myself. Let me ask you, what do you make of this triptych? I never question my visions. If I do, if I try to impose some narrative of my own, to make sense of it, the work suffers. I have to trust whatever comes into my head, or I’ll end up with some contrivance that does not ring true. (That concept is very difficult for illustration clients to apprehend.) Once I had it down, I think I know what the story is, but I’d love to hear your ideas. Please send me an email.
