You know… when a child presents an artwork and it’s terrible, you don’t want to hurt their feelings, but you don’t want to lie, so you say, “That’s interesting.” That’s what Kevin Kresse said about my face, “Interesting.” Not kind, not handsome, not manly. “Interesting.” LOL.
For a few years I helped Bridget and Kevin with t-shirt designs for their children’s elementary school. They offered to pay me, but I declined. Instead, Kevin offered one of his drawings, which I was delighted to accept. I didn’t understand that he meant to draw a portrait of me. He invited me to his studio above Vino’s Brewpub and this was the excellent drawing he made, in charcoal.
